This design was created by the Design Institute of Vladivostok.
The Primorsky Aquarium of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has been completed in September 2016, this development was at the request of the President of the Russian Federation.
The exhibit building, which is designed in the shape of a shell, is a masterpiece of architecture and design. It is designed for exhibits and visitors, as well as research laboratories. The building amazes with its size. It is 150 meters wide, and overall size is about 35 000 square meters. The total volume of water in the Primorsky aquarium will be about 25,000 tons.
Our initial design contract was signed back in 2006 with the Design Institute of Vladivostok. Nicholas Traviss of Marinescape Group was the initial contract signee, and the contract was to obtain Expertisa in the Russian Standards.
The Expertisa contract was completed and then we embarked on the negotiations for the Construction. These Negotiations broke down due to the fact that neither Marinescape and or Nicholas Traviss did not offer any renumeration for any of the managements services, as was expected. Unfortunately the project has had multiple difficulties and marred with corruption from many of the officials involved in the construction.
Most of the consultants in the commercial aquarium industry have worked on this aquarium at one time or another. The Aquarium Facility has opened officially in September 2016.
